The Rugby Channel to Broadcast NIRA National Championship

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) is proud to announce that The Rugby Channel will broadcast all three games for the National Championship weekend.

Both semifinals on Friday, November 17 along with the National Championship on Sunday, November 19 will be available on platform.

"NIRA is excited for The Rugby Channel to broadcast the National Championship for 2017," expressed NIRA Commissioner Katie Boldvich. "This is a major enhancement for our student athletes and will showcase women's collegiate varsity rugby on a new platform and to a more broad fan base."

Quinnipiac University will square off against Central Washington University in the first semifinal on Friday with kickoff slated for 10:00 a.m. In semifinal two it will be top-seeded Dartmouth College battling Ivy-league rival Harvard University at 1:00 p.m. Both winners will advance to the National Championship game on Sunday, November 19 for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff. 

"The Rugby Channel is privileged and excited to broadcast the NIRA championships as part of our mission to help support the growth of rugby and of NIRA's efforts to gain full NCAA championship status for women's rugby," said Edward Derse, Managing Director of The Rugby Channel.
